Who these guidelines apply to #
These guidelines apply to riders, drivers, driver applicants, guests riding under someone else's request, people interacting with Ride support, and users of the ridebylamar.com website. They exist so that every trip and interaction is safe and respectful.
Treat people with respect #
- Be courteous to the person on the other side of the trip and to support staff.
- No harassment of any kind — verbal, physical, or through the app's messaging and rating tools.
- No sexual misconduct. Sexual comments, advances, contact, or conduct during or connected to a trip are strictly prohibited.
- No threats, intimidation, or violence.
- No stalking or unwanted contact after a trip ends. Trip information may be used only to complete the trip.
- No discrimination — see the Nondiscrimination Policy.
Keep everyone safe #
- Follow the safety rules for your role, including seatbelts and lawful vehicle capacity.
- No drugs or alcohol for drivers who are online or providing a trip — see the Zero-Tolerance Drug and Alcohol Policy.
- No unsafe driving, and no interfering with the driver or vehicle while riding.
- No weapons where prohibited by law or policy — see the Weapons and Firearms Policy.
- No unlawful activity during a trip or on the platform.
Be honest #
- No fraud: fake accounts, stolen payment methods, staged incidents, false damage claims, or manipulated fares, promotions, referrals, ratings, or location data.
- No account sharing and no impersonation of another person, a Ride employee, or a driver you are not.
- No misuse of another person's personal information encountered through the platform.
- No false or malicious reports. Good-faith reporting is protected; fabricated reports violate these guidelines.
Respect the platform #
- No off-platform solicitation of paid rides with people you met through Ride.
- No recordings of other people where recording is unlawful. Recording laws vary by state; you are responsible for complying with them.
- No retaliation against anyone for making a good-faith report or participating in an investigation.
- Cooperate with Ride investigations by responding honestly to reasonable requests.
Consequences #
Violations can lead to warnings, temporary restrictions, suspension, or permanent deactivation, depending on severity and history — with immediate action when safety requires it. The Account Suspension, Deactivation, and Appeal Policy explains the process and how to appeal. Where conduct may be criminal, Ride may involve law enforcement.
Reporting #
If anyone is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical, police, or fire assistance, call 911 first. Ride's forms and support channels are not an emergency service.
For non-emergency concerns, use the in-app reporting tools or ridebylamar.com/safety/report. Email support@ridebylamar.com or call (561) 542-7560.
