The standard #
Riders trust drivers with their safety. Drivers on the Ride platform must obey traffic laws, drive defensively, and put safety ahead of speed, ratings, or trip volume.
Rules #
- No handheld phone use while driving. Set navigation before moving; interact with the app only when lawful and safe.
- Obey speed limits and traffic signals.
- No driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol — see the Zero-Tolerance Drug and Alcohol Policy.
- No driving while fatigued. Stop driving when tired; the platform may limit continuous online hours.
- Everyone buckles up. Do not begin a trip until passengers are seated with seatbelts available.
- Never exceed the vehicle's lawful passenger capacity.
- Children requiring a child restraint may only ride with an appropriate child seat.
- Pull over safely for pickups and drop-offs; do not stop where it is unlawful or dangerous.
- Report accidents involving a platform trip to the appropriate authorities and to Ride.
Enforcement #
Reports of unsafe driving are investigated and may lead to suspension or deactivation under the Account Suspension, Deactivation, and Appeal Policy.
